How Did Caroline Stanbury Make Her Money?

Caroline Stanbury was born into a very wealthy, influential British family. Her family owns Vestey Holdings, a group of food companies that includes Albion Fine Foods, Cottage Delight, Vestey Foods, WISK, and Donald Russell.

As a teenager, Stanbury attended some of England’s top boarding schools, where her education included the etiquette lessons she would need to join high society.

While Caroline Stanbury’s family wealth positioned her for success, she has taken her own direction in life. Her achievements include starting a fashion brand and making two reality TV shows successful.

How Did Caroline Stanbury Get Famous?

Caroline Stanbury first became famous when she joined the cast of Ladies of London in 2014. The show only had three main characters who appeared in every season: Caroline Stanbury, Juliet Angus, and Marissa Hermer.

Julie Montagu, Viscountess Hinchingbrooke, was a friend in the first season but transitioned to lead character for seasons two and three.

When Stanbury moved to Dubai, producers decided they didn’t want to pursue a fourth season. Presumably, they doubted that the show would succeed without Stanbury’s charm, wit, and interesting life.

That wasn’t the end of reality TV for Stanbury, though. After moving to Dubai, she got involved in a new project, The Real Housewives of Dubai.

Like the Ladies of London, the Real Housewives of Dubai appeared on the Bravo channel. The shows also share several executive producers, including Andy Cohen, who created the Real Housewives franchise.

As of September 2024, The Real Housewives of Dubai is currently in its second season. Its main cast members also include Chanel Ayan, Sara Al Madani, and Lesa Milan.

How Did Caroline Stanbury Make Her Money?

Caroline Stanbury started making money independently from her family by working as a personal stylist. She likely worked with several high-profile clients, but she believes it’s uncouth to name those clients. She prefers to keep those relationships quiet to protect everyone’s privacy.

Although Stanbury might have benefitted from her family’s wealth and connections, she set out to create a personal brand that would lead to her popularity and riches.

Her ambition has made her a celebrity in several countries, including the United States and England.

Caroline Stanbury’s Net Worth

It’s a bit challenging to determine Caroline Stanbury’s net worth because she has so many revenue sources. While most people know her as a television personality, she’s also a business owner.

It’s further complicated by Stanbury living in so many countries (she was born in London, England, but currently resides in Dubai, United Arab Emirates).

Still, some curious people have done their best to find her estimated net worth. Currently, those people think she has about $30 million.

At $30 million, she’s by far the wealthiest cast member on the Real Housewives of Dubai. The second-wealthiest woman on the show, Lesa Milan, has about $9 million. That’s actually a generous estimate since some people put Milan’s net worth closer to $5 million.

Who Is Caroline Stanbury’s Ex-Husband?

Caroline Stanbury married Cem Habib in 2004. Habib is a Turkish-born financier reportedly worth $50 million. The couple have three children.

Ladies of London ended in 2017 because the family related to Dubai, where Habib had received a lucrative job offer.

Stanbury and Habib got divorced two years later, but they have said that they remain close friends and put their children’s needs first. Partly for this reason, Stanbury decided to remain in Dubai.

Two years later, Caroline Stanbury married Sergio Carrallo. Born in 1994, he’s nearly two decades younger than her. Carrallo spent his youth in Madrid and California, moving frequently because of his father’s tech job. He became a professional footballer and played with Real Madrid Club de Fútbol for six years before retiring from the sport.

Interestingly, Stanbury and Carrallo met during a promotional event for Stanbury’s podcast “Divorced, Not Dead.” At the beginning of the 2020 era, Carrallo decided he wanted to be near Caroline, so he relocated from the U.S. to Dubai. The two married near the end of 2021.

Unsubstantiated reports say that Carrallo’s father begged him not to marry Stanbury, and even offered to give his son any amount of money to end the engagement.

It’s unclear why Carrallo’s family would oppose their marriage, though. Unlike many reality TV stars, Caroline Stanbury has maintained a positive reputation and largely used her position to help others.

UAE law made it difficult for Stanbury and Carrallo to tie the not. At the time, the country’s laws didn’t allow interfaith marriages. Stanbury found a workaround by formalizing their union in the Republic of Mauritius.

The UAE has since updated its laws to allow interfaith marriages, but the couple hasn’t felt compelled to formalize their relationship with the government since it recognizes the Mauritius marriage.

Caroline Stanbury’s Businesses

Although Caroline Stanbury is best known for her television appearances, she has owned a few businesses in the fashion and high-end gift sectors.

Her business, Gift Library, sold luxury goods online. Clients could purchase items like jewelry, clutches, and even clothing for dogs. She sold the company to Amara.com after joining Ladies of London.

If you go to the old Gift Library website, it will redirect you to Amara’s site. Neither party disclosed how much Amara spent acquiring Gift Library.

Caroline currently co-owns Black Suede Studio with Canadian businessman Kris Avakian. The collection started as a line of shoes designed by Stanbury. It currently offers a broader range of accessories in addition to fashionable shoes. Black Suede Studio’s products are sold through its website and more than 70 retail stores, including Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s, and Saks Fifth Avenue.

Stanbury frequently worked as a personal stylist before she got involved in reality TV. Today, she devotes most of her creative energy to designing shoes.

TV Shows Featuring Caroline Stanbury

She also appeared in Yiannimize Grand Tour, a documentary featuring celebrities and their cars; In the Hot Box Studio, and E! New Live.

Caroline Stanbury’s Podcasts

Caroline Stanbury ventured into podcasts shortly after her divorce from Cem Habib. Her first podcast, Divorced But Not Dead, covered topics like raising children with an ex and finding new opportunities for personal growth.

More recently, Stanbury began releasing episodes for Uncut and Uncensored With Caroline Stanbury. While it covers many of the topics addressed in Divorced But Not Dead, it also includes stories from different people.

She frequently interviews guests about their life stories. She also talks to guests about recent events. She has been releasing weekly episodes since 2020.
